Dani and Jason were married in an intimate wedding gathering in the foothills of Boulder Colorado. This was my smallest wedding ever, yet still is one of my favorites. Dani did a superb job styling the wedding herself and even doing her own flowers! There were probably less than 30 guests, but the wedding was every bit as beautiful and scenic as any I’ve done. Additionally, the intimate setting lent to some great family moments that will be remembered forever, well . . . because I took photos of them! Thanks guys, congratulations, and cheers to a happy life together.

This past Sunday I shot the intimate wedding gathering of Danielle and Jason in Nederland. Since Jason will be returning to Canada soon, I will be posting their amazing wedding photos later this week. So this blog post is as much about their wedding, as it is about my new Nikon 24 1.4 lens that I shot for the first time!

So while this image shows off the styling of Dani’s flower girl bouquet which she designed herself, it also shows of the bokeh of the new lens. I have viewed some of the images, and I’m super impressed with the performance. The out of box calibration was very good, the lens is very sharp wide open, and I had no trouble focusing at any time, including using the outer focus points in the pitch black dancing photos on the deck. It is a great addition to my kit for the look that a fast wide prime provides, as well as a lighter reception storytelling lens than my 24-70.
