Memorial Day weekend was the official kickoff of summer wedding season here at Steve Z Photography! Maria and Alan were united amongst the greenery at the Secret Garden wedding venue in Colorado Springs.
The greenhouse was a fabulous setting for some bridal portraits and for Maria’s father to see her in her dress for the first time.
For the most part we enjoyed splendid weather with cooler than expected temperatures under a partly cloudy sky. The natural light for the ceremony and the dances was perfect!
While there were tons of bridges and faux Greek columns and statues on site, I of course chose to shoot my creative portraits in a more modern style.
With the ceremony, portraits, and formals out of the way, everyone was super excited to party!
For the second year in a row, I shot a wedding on my birthday. The best part is that I’m always assured to get some cake!
I shot the dances outside in the daylight for the first time in a long time. The light was amazing and a stormy breeze blew Maria’s veil, adding lovely drama to the scene. These are my favorite dancing photos that I’ve taken in a long while.After the dances, it was time for the rest of the guests to rock out their dance moves under the tall trees. Another wonderful couple was united and off to start a beautiful life together, while I was off to Boulder to enjoy a birthday toast for myself! Peace.
