Hello there and welcome to a new year of fantabulicous photography action with Steve Z! We’ll be kicking off 2010 with some Boulder engagement photos with Caitlin and Phill. We shot at Settlers Park in the Red Rocks Trail area since it is a great location for year round shooting.

Here we have Zulu, looking quite handsome with steely blue eyes. There is nothing cooler than having a name that starts with Z.

And no engagement shoot would be complete with out my signature weird tilt shift photo. There was quite a setup to get this photo, including off camera lighting at the center of the tree. Not to mention the perils of the invasive Russian Olive Tree . . . thorns!

And here they are, up close and personal. I’m looking forward to the wedding and having some fun up in Winter Park in July!

Every year I write a blog post going over my album choice for my out of town clients who cannot make it into the studio to look and feel my wedding albums in person. So this is the post for my 2010 Wedding Album FAQ.
For 2010, I will be offering 2 different types of Wedding Albums and an Engagement Guest Signing Book. Each album offers different covers, features, page styles, and price points.

This portrait session features images taken from my preferred view of the Flatirons in South Boulder, and one fantabulous family. We organized what was to be my last shoot for 2009 as a brother-sister reunion Christmas gift for their mom. The ‘Boulder is a small town’ portion of the story, is that I originally met Brandy at the 303 Vodka headquarters right here in Boulder, Colorado. Conveniently located next to my friends at Green Guru, the manufacturing facility was the perfect warm up spot for a couple of the Cruiser Rides this summer!

John Albers is the Executive Director of the American Animal Hospital Association here in Colorado. He contacted me for some professional business portraits that were a little more interesting photographically than your standard studio headshot. We chose the urban landscape of Downtown Denver and the inside of the Colorado Convention Center as the backdrops. I brought along some studio lighting so that everyone on the street knew that I was serious. Well, not really. I brought the location off camera lighting setup so that I was assured to have great light no matter what background I chose. But the first reason sounds funnier to me right now. A blend of serious and silly: Steve Z Photography. There you have my marketing slogan for the day!
